About Us


Our History

The Lenape Boston Terrier Club was established in 1977 with 10 members.  The LBTC has been an affiliate club since 1980.  LBTC was incorporated in 1992.

Our first officers were: President - Ed Vickery, Vice President - Henry Laufenberg, Secretary - Alma Bettencourt, Treasurer - Eleanor Vikery.

The LBTC held its first Specialty Sunday, May 19, 1985.  It hosted the Boston Terrier Club of America's National May 24 -26, 1994 at the Days Inn Conference Center in Allentown, PA.  Most recently, LBTC co-hosted the April 29th - May 1st BTCA Nationals in Lancaster PA with our sister club, The Triangle Boston Terrier Breeders Club. 

The LBTC has successfully hosted 41 Specialties.  The largest LBTC show was in May 1994 with 166 entries!  This was when the LBTC hosted the National.  

The LBTC has hosted judges' education programs, obedience demonstrations, educational booths at Canine Learning Experience in Allentown, PA, pot luck dinners, yearly fun matches and Sanctioned B Matches.  

The Lenape Boston Terrier Club is a member club of the New Jersey Federation of Dog Clubs.  The LBTC also yearly supports the Boston Terrier entries at New Brunswick Kennel Club, Non-Sporting Group Club of the Garden State, Penn Ridge Kennel Club, Lehigh Valley Kennel Club and Delaware Water Gap Kennel Club.
